Brief Hiostory Of Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya
Saraswati Institution, later rechristened as Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya in 1948 in honour of its Founder Headmaster Babu Sailendranath Sircar, began its journey in the year 1920. The institution was established with the contribution of the founder himself, who was the youngest son of Sri Peary Churn Sircar, a distinguished educationist, philanthropist, pioneer of the Temperance Reform movement in undivided Bengal, and the author of The First Book of Reading. Soon after its establishment, the school received recognition from the University of Calcutta. Since its inception, the institution has been producing a large number of successful students who have demonstrated academic and cultural excellence both in India and abroad.

Every morning is a new morning for me as every moment is full of pleasant surprise. I find each and every student with a new look and brilliance .Sometimes I learn from them a lot. It is always true that what we gain today might be lost tomorrow but the good or positive essence of the gain is our future asset. Children are the treasure of the future of our nation and we nourish and develop them meticulously, inculcate noble spirit in them in order to assist them in facing stiff obstacles in the days to come. A day in school never passes without any achievement and this is one of the motivations that keeps us moving ahead with much more acceleration making future efforts with more and more vigour and enthusiasm.

About School
The school was established in the year 1920 on 5th January by Babu Sailendra Sircar, chief of the old block Peary Charan Sircar. It achieved first recognition from The Calcutta University when this school was well-known as Saraswati Institution. Initially it was running in a rented house and later on shifted to 62A Shyampukur Street. In the year 1933 , 1934 and 1951 students stood first in their Entrance Examinations and during the period many luminaries passed out with brilliant results from this school. After the sad demise of Babu Sailendra Sircar the school was renamed as Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya as a token of gratitude and respect to its founder . The school became a Govt. sponsored school in the year 1979 . With the golden touch of Late Shri Jyotirbikash Mitra ( First National Teacher of West Bengal ) the school reached its crescendo of success and continued its tradition year after year . Many Headmasters occupied the chair and put their best efforts to promote this school to keep its past performance in tact.
